Hey Creator,

You've just generated the perfect clip in Runway. Now comes the annoying part — export it, switch to Premiere, import it, drag it onto the timeline, and hope it doesn't need another pass. If it does, you're doing all of that again.

Runway just cut that process down to one app. Let’s see how!

On September 8, Runway rolled out a plugin that puts itself directly inside Premiere Pro and After Effects — as a panel sitting right in your existing edit, not a separate program you tab over to.

What actually changes

  • Generate with Runway's full model lineup right inside your Premiere or After Effects timeline

  • No export, no re-import, no losing your place in the edit

  • Works as a panel in your existing project, not a separate app window

What the restyle feature looks like in practice

Say a clip already sitting on your timeline has the wrong lighting or color mood for the scene.

  • Open the Runway panel and select that footage

  • Describe the change to Aleph 2, Runway's editing model

  • Aleph 2 reworks the existing footage to match

  • The result drops straight into your sequence in place — no exporting to a folder, no re-importing, no re-aligning it on the timeline yourself

What it'll cost you

  • The plugin is a free download for macOS and Windows

  • It runs on your existing Runway plan and credits — so you'll need to already be a paid Runway user for it to actually generate anything

Worth knowing before you install it

This is fresh off Runway's own changelog, so there's no independent hands-on coverage yet — no word on how it handles heavier projects or edge cases. Worth trying on a smaller edit first before building a full workflow around it.

The bigger pattern

This isn't a one-off. Runway's been on an integration push all month — a Grok Bot plugin landed just days before this one. AI video tools are increasingly building themselves into the software you already use, rather than asking you to leave it.
