Hey Creator,
Glad you're here!
Today’s edition is a little different — no tool roundups, no news headlines. Just something I've been thinking about a lot lately and felt was worth an honest conversation. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by how fast things are moving, or quietly wondered whether what you do still matters in an AI-first world — this one's for you.
Take your time with it!
I feel this overwhelm almost every day. So many tools to learn — where to focus, what to leave. And underneath it all, something harder to name: technology is advancing fast, and it's affecting people in ways we're only beginning to understand.
But I’ve also realised resisting it isn't a solution either. The one who learns to use AI to their benefit, wins.
Think of it like a car. No matter how many advanced features it has, it still has to be driven. A car sitting in a garage is useless. Learning AI is a lot like learning to drive — the tool only works when you're behind the wheel.
So the real question isn't whether to use AI. It's how to build a creative business that stays relevant, resilient, and unmistakably yours — no matter what drops next.
What AI Is Already Doing (Be Honest)
Let's not sugarcoat this. AI is already handling most of what used to take real time, real skill, and sometimes a whole team:
First draft copy, captions, scripts
Image and video generation
Editing, formatting, resizing for platforms
Scheduling, repurposing, distribution
Research, summarising, ideation
If the core of your creative business has been producing faster than everyone else — that advantage is shrinking. A solo creator with decent AI skills can now match what a small team produced two years ago.
This isn't a reason to panic. It's just the new ground we're all standing on. The tools are available to everyone now. Which means showing up with content is no longer enough. What you bring beyond the content — that's where the real work is.
The 4 Things AI Can't Touch
And I say this not to make you feel better — but because I genuinely believe it.
Your Point of View : AI can write in your tone. It cannot have your opinion. The specific way you see a trend, a tool, or a moment in the creator economy — shaped by your actual experience, your wins, your failures — is something no model can replicate. A strong POV is becoming rarer and more valuable, not less.
Your Community Trust: People follow people, not content. The relationship you've built with your audience — the inside jokes, the callbacks, the fact that they've watched you figure things out in real time — that's a years-long asset no tool can generate. AI can help you show up consistently. It cannot show up as you.
Your Curation Taste: The internet is already drowning in AI-generated content. Someone still has to decide what's worth attention. If your audience comes to you because you consistently surface the right ideas, the right tools, the right stories — that judgment is yours. It always will be.
Your Personal Story: Your backstory, your pivots, your "I tried this and it completely failed" moments — this is the content that converts, connects, and builds real loyalty. AI cannot make these up for you. It wasn't there.
The Director Mindset
This is the reframe that changed how I think about all of it.
Stop thinking of yourself as someone who uses AI tools. Start thinking of yourself as a director with a production crew.
A film director doesn't operate the camera or edit the footage. They set the vision, make the creative calls, and direct everyone around them to get there. That's exactly the role AI is offering you right now.
Creators who brief AI clearly, review its output critically, and inject their perspective at every stage are producing better work faster than anyone else. The ones who avoid AI entirely, or hand it the wheel completely, are both losing the same race from opposite directions.
Ask yourself honestly: am I directing AI, or is it directing me?
There's a difference between using AI to produce faster and using it to think less. One builds your business. The other quietly hollows it out.
The Human Edge Audit
Run this on your business today. Be honest — this isn't about feeling good, it's about knowing exactly where your real value lives.
Your Content & Voice
Could someone read 10 of my posts and describe my POV in one sentence?
Do I share experiences and opinions that only I could write?
If my name and face were removed, would my content still be recognisably mine?
If no: Write one piece this week with no AI first draft. Just you. This is where your voice sharpens.
Your Community
Do my followers feel like they know me, or do they just consume my content?
Am I having real conversations or just broadcasting?
Do I have a space where relationships go deeper than a like?
If no: Focus on reply-worthy content — questions, personal stories, updates that invite a response. Community is built in inboxes and comments, not the feed.
Your Curation & Expertise
Am I known for a specific opinion on my niche or do I just report what's happening?
Do people come to me to make sense of something, or just to get information?
Can I name 3 things I believe about my industry that most people get wrong?
If no: Start taking positions. "Here's what I think about X" will always outperform "here's what happened with X."
Your AI Workflow
Am I using AI to produce faster or to think less?
Do I edit and inject my perspective into AI content before it goes out?
Is there a clear line between "AI handles this" and "only I do this"?
If no: Map your content workflow and label each step — AI, Human, or Both. If too many steps are AI-only, pull at least one back into your hands per piece.
The Takeaway
The creators who struggle in the next five years won't be the ones who didn't learn enough tools. They'll be the ones who let AI flatten their voice, stopped building real community, and competed on volume instead of depth.
I think about this a lot. Because the overwhelm is real — I feel it too. But overwhelm is just a signal that you're paying attention. The answer isn't to learn everything. It's to get very clear on what only you can do — and protect that fiercely.
AI is the most powerful production crew any creator has ever had access to. But it still needs a director. That's you. It was always you.
Your prompts are leaving out 80% of what you're thinking.
When you type a prompt, you summarize. When you speak one, you explain. Wispr Flow captures your full reasoning — constraints, edge cases, examples, tone — and turns it into clean, structured text you paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI tool. The difference shows up immediately. More context in, fewer follow-ups out.
